COVID-19 Recovered Varun Dhawan Shares Amitabh Bachchan Checked On Him Every Day; Calls Him A Great Man
While shooting for his next film Jug Jug Jeeyo in Chandigarh, Varun Dhawan and Neetu Kapoor tested positive for Coronavirus. While Neetu Kapoor reportedly traveled back to Mumbai in an air ambulance organised by her son Ranbir Kapoor, Varun traveled back after being quarantined in Chandigarh for a few days. It was recently that both of them recovered from COVID-19 and resumed the shooting for the film. In his latest interview, Varun revealed that it was Amitabh Bachchan who made it a point to ask him about his health every day.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, "One person, who checked on me throughout when I was unwell is Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan). He diligently asked me every day if I was doing fine. And I was like, ‘I have to get okay now (smiles).’ He is spectacular and a great man." Amitabh Bachchan himself is a Coronavirus survivor as he had tested positive for the deadly virus in the month of July. Along with him, son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan too had tested positive for COVID-19.

Talking about his illness phase, Varun Dhawan in the same interview stated that he still feels a little weak, however, he has to get back to work as there is a lot of work pending. Varun also quoted, "Honestly, we took every precaution possible; we were wearing masks (on the sets of Jug Jugg Jeeyo) but when you have to deliver your lines, you have to remove your masks. Also, if you make a film, there are going to be people around. That’s why it’s difficult for me to say as to how I got it because I don’t know. But luckily, my immunity is good so I have gone through it. But if I can just warn people, I want to say that everyone should take every precaution possible and take this [virus] very seriously as it’s a serious disease."

Varun Dhawan also has Coolie No 1 in pipeline which will release on December 25. He stars alongside Sara Ali Khan in it. (Also Read: Neetu Kapoor-Varun Dhawan Snapped At Mumbai Airport After Testing COVID-19 Negative; Actors Look Hale And Hearty As They Head To Resume Jug Jugg Jeeyo Shoot)
