2021 started on a good note, B-town celebs have rejoiced with happiness as the Indian government approved of two vaccines to curtail COVID-19. The battle which the entire world has been fighting almost for 9-10 months now will finally come to an end, hence the announcement came as a relief to many. This vaccine has been manufactured by Adar Poonawalla’s Serum Institute of India and launched with the name Covishield. Celebs taking to their respective social media handles congratulated the manufacturer and finally hoping for a better 2021.

Adar Poonawalla announcing it tweeted, “Happy new year, everyone! All the risks @SerumInstIndia took with stockpiling the vaccine, have finally paid off. COVISHIELD, India's first COVID-19 vaccine is approved, safe, effective and ready to roll-out in the coming weeks.” He also thanked the honourable PM Narendra Modi and global leaders. Huma Qureshi congratulated him in her tweet. Producer Pritish Nandy too congratulated Adar and praised him for taking a risk which will help save many lives. Joining him was director and filmmaker Goldie Behl.
