As the world of glitz and glamour was drenched in festive fervour celebrating Diwali 2019 and Bollywood stars were busy either throwing or attending big fat parties, Deepika Padukone and her otherwise party-loving husband Ranveer Singh, stayed away from the celebrations. Wondering why? Well, for a very good reason of course. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have erratic work schedules and the two often spend days apart from each other.  ALSO READ: Not Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone Will Produce And Act In Mahabharat; Will Essay The Role Of Draupadi

So this time, they consciously decided to cut out the noise and cacophony and ring in the festival with just them and their families for company. The Bhavnanis and Padukones spent some quality time together over the extended weekend and brought in the festival of lights in each others’ company. Deepika’s mother, father and sister flew down from Bangalore to spend a few days with Ranveer’s parents and his siblings.

Deepika who has recently wrapped up shoot on Chhapaak, a movie where she plays an acid attack survivor recently revealed that because of their work commitments, Ranveer and she sometimes were in different zones (emotionally). The two shot together for Kabir Khan’s ’83 where they play reel life couple, Kapil Dev and Romi Dev. Deepika is also a co-producer on the venture.

The year ahead looks especially busy for the two, Deepika will soon commence Mahabharata jointly produced by Madhu Mantena and the actress herself. She will essay the role of Draupadi in the film. Ranveer Singh we hear has been approached by Sanjay Leela Bhansali to play the titular role in Baiju Bawra.

He will also soon begin work on YRF’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar to be directed by his good friend and Maneesh Sharma.
