The Mastani of Bollywood aka Deepika Padukone has a special aura about herself that has already made millions go gaga over her. Her journey in Bollywood began with Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. It’s been 10 years since we saw her play the beautiful Shanti Priya. From playing a wild and fun loving Veronica in Cocktail to a poised queen in Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone has sure come a long way and is undoubtedly one of the more versatile actresses that we have in the industry.

Among all her movies, Padmaavat was indeed the toughest. The actress made sure feels the different emotions in order to do justice to the role which also affected her mentally. If that’s not enough, Karni Sena protested against the film that pushed the film’s release. Deepika and the makers even received threats of all sorts.

The actress was praised for her exceptional performance as Rani Padmavati. It was loved by the audiences and critics. It’s natural that her fans were expecting her to win the Best Actor Female Award. However, at the Filmfare Awards 2019, Alia Bhatt took away the award for Raazi. Deepika’s fans were agitated and penned down a post bashing Filmfare for their poor decision. The fan group even pointed out that if Ranveer Singh and Ayushmann Khurrana can share the Best Actor Award then why wasn't Deepika given the award along with Alia.


To this, the actress responded to their post and apologized to her fans for letting them down. She wrote, "To all my fans, I am sorry I let you all down and promise to work harder than ever before...".



Today, Deepika Padukone shared the first look of her upcoming film Chhapaak which is helmed by Meghna Gulzar. She plays the role of an acid attack survivor. The film also stars Vikrant Massey and will hit the big screen on Januray 10, 2020.
