Deepika Padukone On Turning Producer With Chhapaak: 'Want To Leave Behind A Body Of Work I Am Proud Of,' Adds, 'Will Make Mistakes In The Process'
For those who of you who are not aware about it, here's a dope that Deepika Padukone is not only bringing to life the character if Laxmi Agarwal, name changed to Malti in the film but is also financially backing the project. Yes, she is the producer of the film.
So, at the trailer launch, Deepika was asked about turning a producer for Chhapaak and the actress reasoned out her new job profile quite well. Watch the video below:
Deepika says, "I want people to remember me when I am not around. I want to leave behind a body of work I am proud of."
The talented actress also said that the process of choosing a film as a producer will be same as she follows as an actor. "I will make mistakes in the process and I don't want to sound like an experienced producer because I am not but I am here to learn and add value wherever I can," Deepika said.
Chhapaak is based on the real-life story of acid survivor, Laxmi Agarwal and is directed by Meghna Gulzaar. The film will hit theaters on Jan 10.
