Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone’s parents Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone tested positive for COVID-19, as per a report. The report stated that the Piku actor’s sister, Anisha Padukone also tested positive for the virus. A close friend of the family revealed in the report that the Padukone family developed symptoms for COVID-19 around 10 days back. According to the report, currently, Deepika’s father Prakash Padukone is admitted to a Bengaluru hospital. He will be discharged later this week, said the report.
Speaking with PTI, Vimal Kumar, a close friend of the legendary shuttler and director at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) revealed that Deepika Padukone’s family developed symptoms for the virus and got themselves tested around 10 days back. He said, “Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive.”
Kumar revealed that the Padukone family got themselves isolated soon after they tested positive for the virus, but Deepika’s father’s fever did not come down. He said, “They got themselves isolated but after a week Prakash's fever didn't come down, so last Saturday, he was admitted to a hospital here in Bengaluru.” Vimal Kumar added, “He is okay now. All his parameters are fine, his wife and daughter are at home and he too will be hopefully discharged in 2-3 days.”
Meanwhile, after the lockdown was lifted last year, Deepika and her husband, actor Ranveer Singh visited her parents in Bengaluru. The couple was spotted at the airport.
