Deepika Padukone was questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on September 26 in connection to the alleged drug nexus of Bollywood, related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, which the agency is probing. The actress joined the investigation after she was issued a summon by the NCB. Now, after Deepika’s questioning, the reports state that she told the NCB that she did not consume or procure drugs. Apart from the major revelation, reports state that Deepika’s phone was also seized by the NCB.

According to a report in Republic, during her questioning by the NCB, Deepika Padukone denied consuming or procuring drugs. A source in the report revealed that the actor was confronted with her chats with her manager Karishma Prakash, where she was asking for ‘maal’ ‘hash’. The sources said that the NCB team is not satisfied with Padukone’s responses, even though she accepted her chats. As per the report, the NCB also seized Deepika’s phone and is set to cross-verify the statement with the data.

While Deepika Padukone’s phone is seized, according to the report, the investigating agency will be examining the actresses’ denial on consumption and procurement of drugs, with the data accessed from her phone and statements of others related to her. The Piku actress was questioned for almost 6 hours at the NCB guest house on Saturday. The NCB officials felt her answers during questioning were ‘evasive and tutored’, as per sources. The sources also said that she has not been issued summons further.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone’s name surfaced in the drugs probe after her alleged WhatsApp chats accessed by the NCB saw her discussing ‘maal’ ‘hash’ with her manager Karishma Prakash. So far, the NCB has questioned Bollywood actresses’ Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali Khan as well, apart from Deepika Padukone.
