A global icon, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is all about inclusivity and empowering her fellow women. So it comes as no surprise that she took time out from her busy schedule to meet with Sharmin Segal, whom she has been a mentor to for many years. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece Sharmin Segal is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with Malaal, which marks Bhansali Productions’ first collaboration with T-SeriesPriyanka was also among the first influencers to wish Sharmin luck over her social media platforms and her recent gesture towards Sharmin is pure joy.

Recently, the makers of the film released a behind-the-scenes video where she is seen rehearsing for Udhal Ho song, enter Priyanka. The Quantico actress paid a surprise visit to Sharmin at the rehearsal studios. They captioned it, "What happens when the scintillating @priyankachopra knocks at your door? @sharminsegal ‬ ‪Udhal toh hogi! ‬ ‪Here’s a glimpse, stay tuned for the full video tomorrow" A sweet gesture indeed!

As we see a "to be continued" in the video, we can't wait to see the continued version of tomorrow.

Sharmin, the granddaughter of acclaimed filmmaker Mohan Segal, has been personally groomed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself to face the silver screen. The promising young star grew close to Priyanka Chopra Jonas during Mary Kom and Bajirao Mastani (for which she was an AD on the sets). Priyanka was also among the first influencers to wish Sharmin luck over her social media platforms.

During her short visit to India recently, the global icon met Sharmin at a promotional activity for Malaal. Not only did she watch the rushes from the highly anticipated movie but also the song, Udhal Ho, in which Sharmin sports a navari saree similar to the one Priyanka did in Bajirao Mastani.

Sharmin also taught Priyanka the hook step of Udhal Ho and the two also indulged in a popular Maharashtrian folk dance that made for an interesting visual.

Interestingly, Sharmin's makeup artist for Malaal, Uday Shirali also happens to be the same Priyanka had worked with in Bajirao Mastani. If that wasn't all, Asha Ganpat Malpekar who dressed Sharmin in traditional navari attire also dressed Priyanka in Bajirao Mastani.

Gulshan Kumar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali present Malaal. Directed by Mangesh Hadawale and introducing Sharmin Segal and Meezaan, the film is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain and Krishan Kumar. The film releases on July 5, 2019.
