Actress Dia Mirza, on Monday, penned an emotional note revealing that her niece Tanya Kakde has passed away. As per reports, she died in a car accident while coming back from Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi international airport with her friends. In her post, Dia did not reveal the case of her death. She called Tanya her ‘child and jaan.’ Soon after she shared this heartbreaking news, many Bollywood celebrities including, Boman Irani, Arjun Rampal, Suniel Shetty, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and others expressed their grief.

Sharing Tanya’s picture on her Instagram handle, Dia wrote, “My neice. My child. My jaan. Gone into the light. May you find peace and love wherever you are my darling… you always brought a smile to our hearts and the higher realms will be filled with more light with you dancing, smiling and singing. Om Shanti.” Mourning the loss, Arjun wrote, “So sorry to hear this Dia. Prayers for all of you her family and her soul. Reportedly, Tanya, daughter of Congress leader Feroz Khan, was returning from Rajiv Gandhi international airport with her four friends when the accident took place. This horrifying car accident happened at NH 44 and the patrol team arrived at the spot to help. But Tanya passed away while she was being taken to the hospital. 

Dia shared a great bond with her niece Tanya. In an interview, Tanya Kakde even mentioned that Dia was her biggest inspiration when it comes to work. She said, “I grew up watching and learning from all of the strong women in my life – my mother, my nani, my ammama, Deepa dadi, and my mashi, Dia Mirza.”
