Did Ranbir Kapoor And Deepika Padukone Skip Manish Malhotra’s 50TH Birthday Bash Because Of Katrina Kaif?
The entire A-list of Bollywood gathered to celebrate Manish Malhotra’s 50th birthday bash. But friendly exes Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were nowhere to be seen at the gala hosted by Karan Johar
Bollywood's favourite fashion designer Manish Malhotra had a ball last night! He turned 50 and Karan Johar hosted a grand party where he invited the who’s who of Bollywood.
But there were two names, whose absence got the tongues wagging-Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor.
Manish has known Deepika since her days as a model, and styled her in for her Bollywood debut Om Shanti Om. Manish was also the man responsible for Deepika's looks in two of her biggest films, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express.
And then there is Ranbir. He is an integral part of Karan and Manish's gang and has walked the ramp for Manish’s fashion shows many times.
So where were two of Manish's closest collaborators on his big day?
Deepika Padukone along with Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan attended Nickelodeon Kids Awards the same evening, just few hours before the Manish's birthday ball kick-started. While Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt quickly wrapped up the event and headed to Manish’s bash. But Deepika didn’t turn up!
Ranbir did not even have that excuse. He was very much in town but still missed Manish’s bash and the only reason we can think of is – Katrina Kaif.
Yes, Katrina Kaif attended the party and was clicked with Alia, Parineeti, Aditya Roy Kapur. She was the belle of the ball in a golden gown and stuck close to the birthday boy, who had earlier this month travelled with her to the Maldives for a photo shoot.
Plus, Katrina and Karan Johar are close, despite her break-up with Ranbir. So, obviously there was no reason for Katrina to not be at the party.
So, were Deepika and Ranbir simply avoiding Katrina? While Ranbir has steadfastly avoided Katrina after their acrimonious break-up, Deepika too has a famously cold equation with her.
BTW Ranveer Singh too was missing from the circuit. The mystery deepens...
