Did you know Chunky Panday once played acting instructor to superstar Akshay Kumar? Surprised? The actor revealed this lesser known fact about him during a chat show, hosted by Cyrus Brocha on YouTube. Recalling his old days, Chunky Panday mentioned while he was graduating, Akki was a rookie actor - around four-five years younger to him. And like an unsaid rule, where students learn more from seniors, Akki too learnt from him.
Chunky taught Akshay Kumar actor dance moves and also, dialogue delivery. Chunky said, “He really makes me laugh about it. I graduated from a school called Madhumati's Dancing School. So when I was graduating... Akshay was much younger than me, four-five years younger than me. Akshay was just joining the school. You know how it is, when you just join, the teachers don't teach you, the senior students teach you. So I used to teach him some dance moves, and some dialogue delivery.”
Akshay Kumar has, on several occasions, poked fun at Chunky, stating him as a teacher was one of the reasons he never got an award. Chunky further told Broacha, “He still laughs and jokes about it. That's why he says in the initial part of his career he didn't get too much work or awards, because of the acting I taught him. He had to undo what I taught him and become a better actor, and that's why he's become Akshay Kumar.”
Chunky, however, added he always knew Akshay would be a superstar, courtesy his great attitude, physique and looks. “Akshay is eye-candy; he's a beautiful-looking guy.
