Dil Bechara Turns 1: Sanjana Sanghi Recalls Meeting Late Sushant Singh Rajput For The First Time; Reveals A Thing She Learned From Him
Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film, Dil Bechara was released on July 24, 2020, on Disney+ Hotstar. The film was loved by everyone that made them laugh and cry. It has been a year since Mukesh Chhabra’s directorial debut film was released. As it completes a year, Sanjana Sanghi who also made her debut with this film recalls the time when she met late Sushant Singh Rajput for the first time and how they broke the ice. In a recent interview, she revealed that within five minutes of the meeting, they realised that they both are nerds. They bonded over many things but the one common point of interest between them was Delhi. While she hailed from the nation’s capital, SSR studied there.

“We met for the first time at Mukesh (Chhabra, director) sir’s office, where we did our reading,” she told TOI. “Within five minutes of the meeting, we realised that we both are nerds, are obsessed with everything academic and lived for the love of food! The other common point of interest was Delhi. While I hailed from Delhi, he had studied there. The performances you see in the film are all because of teamwork as it’s a completely performance-oriented movie. It didn’t boast of any fancy song sequences or stunts, but relied on human emotions and relationships,” she continued.

Talking about what she learned from the late actor, Sanghi told, “The one thing Sushant taught me was to save my energy. He made me realise how important it was to conserve energy by not putting in all of it when not required, for instance, the wide-angle shots. He used to call it ‘rationing’ of the energy.”

When asked if the film got the attention for the right reasons that it deserved, Sanjana said, “The day the film released, it created records with millions of people watching the movie on the first day. That’s an unreal number. With the kind of love and respect the film got, how can I have any regrets? It was quite an ode.” ALSO READ: Dil Bechara Trivia: Did You Know Sushant Singh Rajput’s Voice In The Climax Scene Was Dubbed After His Demise?
