Dilip Kumar’s Funeral: Saira Banu Stood Beside Her Husband Till He Was Buried; 54-Year-Old Bond That Transcends Life And Death
Saira Banu was snapped arriving at Thespian Dilip Kumar’s funeral. She did not leave her husband’s side till he was buried.
Veteran actor and cinema icon Dilip Kumar died on Wednesday morning at the age of 98. As the entire film industry mourned his sad demise, many celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Dharmendra, Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar and Anil Kapoor among others even flocked to his home in Mumbai to pay their final respects. The legendary actor has been given full state honour wherein he was draped in tricolour. The Mumbai Police had gathered at Dilip Kumar’s residence to accord him with full state honour.
Saira Banu arrived at her husband’s last rites. The video of the same is doing the rounds on social media. In the clip, a grief-stricken Saira can be seen getting out of her car, thronged by media and photographers. Saira is also seen talking to a police officer in the video. To note, Saira has always stood beside Dilip Kumar through thick and thin. Even in his last moments, the actress did not leave his side and followed him till he was buried.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced that Dilip Kumar will be honoured with a state funeral. He also issued instructions regarding the same. Dilip Kumar's mortal remains were laid to rest at Mumbai's Juhu Kabristan.
Sharing more details about the last rites, Dilip Kumar's spokesperson and family friend Faisal Farooqui took to the former's Twitter account and tweeted, "Burial today at 5pm..Juhu qabrastan at Santacruz Mumbai.”
