Bollywood actress Divya Dutta made her debut in Hindi cinema in 1994 with the film Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna. Since then, she has been a part of many films, and has portrayed varied roles in those films. She has a career span of over 25 years, during which she won numerous awards for her roles. However, she noticed that people have been using the term ‘supporting actor’ while referring to her, and she has now objected to this. She urged people not to try branding her with the tag of a supporting actor, and mentioned that she plays all sorts of roles.

Divya Dutta shared a series of tweets in which she urged people not to brand her as a supporting actor. “Kuch journo dosto yun hain ki I understand u feel I deserve better, ()but pls don’t try branding me with a tag of supporting actor. Am not. I am an actor. A complete one at that where I play all sorts of roles . Even leads. U understand? U better understand,” she wrote. In another tweet, she called out the fact that the male actors who play all sorts of roles, aren’t called ‘supporting actors’ but are instead called ‘versatile’.

“It amuses me that male actors who do the same I.e play every kind of roles are not given this term . They are called versatile. but this tag is bestowed upon me because in ur opinion I deserved better. I appreciate . I am very happy doing t best roles in the business,” wrote Divya Dutta.


She further tweeted, “in the meantime., let me be what I love being!! An actor! Don’t try brand me. I don’t need it.” Divya Dutta was recently seen in 'Zindagi In Short', an anthology of short series. It is streaming on Netflix, and as it was trending on the top spot on the OTT platform, Divya Dutta had expressed her excitement. She wrote, "Ye nmber one wali feeling!!
