Do You Think The Rebooted Version Of Mr India Should Be Made?
Since filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar announced that he would be remaking the cult classic Mr India, there has been backlash from netizens and Sonam Kapoor, Shekhar Kapur too. Do you feel a film like Mr India should be remade after all these years?
Ever since filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar announced that he is helming the remake of the 1987 cult classic Mr India that starred Anil Kapoor and Sridevi in lead roles, Anil’s daughter Sonam has lashed out against the makers for disrespecting her father and the writer of the original, Shekhar Kapur.
Next, we saw Shekhar Kapur also slamming the makers for not informing him and stated that it’s wrong to use the story without seeking their permission. This snowballed into a controversy and so far, there has been no word from Zafar’s side.
The original was way ahead of its times and was one the best superhero films of the 80s. None can possibly forget Sridevi’s Charlie Chaplina and Hawa Hawai dance, Anil Kapoor’s character who has the power to go invisible on the click of a button and of course, the villainous avatar of Mogambo, rightfully essayed by the late actor Amrish Puri.
