Actor Kartik Aaryan’s sudden exit from Karan Johar’s venture Dostana 2 raised many eyebrows. Netizens wondered the reason behind his exit but SpotboyE.com exclusively reported that due to creative differences with the makers, the actor had to opt-out. Later, an official statement on the same was also released by Dharma Production, stating that the cast will get revamped. However, now, it is said that Aaryan made an exit from Dostana 2 because of his fallout with his co-star Janhvi Kapoor. As per the reports in ETimes, Kartik was upset with his rift with Kapoor, hence he took the matter to their director Collin D’Cunha.
As things were getting out of hand, Collin enlightened the producer Karan Johar about Janhvi and Kartik’s situation and said that Aaryan believed that they should scrap the film. According to the sources of the portal, Kartik then told the Team 'Dostana 2' that he's ready to continue with the film on one condition and that if the makers are ready to drop Janhvi out of the project. That’s not it, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 actor was even ready to adjust his fees if Karan would make another film with him. After a certain amount of deliberation, KJo came to the decision that he should drop Kartik from the film rather than dragging the matter.
Considering 60% of the shoot has been shot with Kartik, Johar was ready to take the chance and replaced him even though they will have to reshoot and will see a hike in the film's budget. Furthermore, Karan is currently said to be on a serious hunt to find a replacement.
Several names like Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Rajkummar Rao and Siddhant Chaturvedi have emerged to fill in Aaryan’s spot but it is also said that the filmmaker is now mindful as he is opening his options for an outsider as well, to avoid any debate on nepotism.
