Esha Deol Credits Her Parents Dharmendra And Hema Malini For Giving Her A 'Normal Childhood'; Says, 'I Used To Travel By Rickshaws And Trains'
Esha Deol has shared her views on paparazzi culture and more.
Esha Deol has shared her experience growing up as a star kid. The actress said that even though her parents, Dharmendra and Hema Malini, were superstars, her childhood was normal. Esha said that her parents have been excellent in bringing her up in a humble and down-to-earth manner with a lot of discipline. She also said that they have instilled sanskaar and taught her to respect elders. Esha gave them full credit for giving her a normal childhood.
Esha also revealed that she travelled by rickshaws and trains when she was younger. She added that it was easy to step out and do things back then, unlike today when star kids are chased by the photographers and every social media post makes buzz.
"When we were growing up, there was no paparazzi culture. Despite being the daughter of huge superstars, it was very easy for us to step out and do things. The most that people would do back then was point in my direction and say, "Yeh Dharmendra and Hema malini ki beti hai," she told ETimes. Esha, who is now a mother of two daughters, Radhya and Miraya, added that she chooses to keep them out of the public eye. She wants them to have a normal childhood. She said, "Today, I think it is the culture that we have picked up. The paparazzi are just doing their job; they have always given a lot of respect to my family and me. If I am ever not comfortable being photographed, they don't click me. I share a lovely understanding with them. My kids are for my husband, family and me, and I prefer to keep them private; it is me who is a public figure. I want my kids to have a normal childhood too."
On the work front, Esha recently launched her production banner Bharat Esha Films and returned to action with the movie titled 'Ek Duaa'. Up next, she will be seen in Disney Plus Hotstar series, Rudra The Edge of Darkness.
