Farah Khan Opens Up On Brother Sajid Khan's #MeToo Case, Says Trial By Social Media Is Very Dangerous
The #MeToo wave created havoc in Bollywood. Tanushree Dutta flagged the #MeToo trend in Bollywood by accusing Nana Patekar and then many names from the industry got exposed. One such name was that of Sajid Khan. The filmmaker who directed films like Housefull, Humshakals and others was accused of sexual harassment by several women on different occasions. He was then asked to step down from the position of director of Housefull 4 and was even banned by film regulatory bodies. Now, after months, Farah Khan has opened up on the issue.

In an interview with Zoom, she spoke about how social media trials are unfair and that all the accused should be treated equally. She quoted, "I had always been sensitive towards the issue. My only issue was the level of hypocrisy shown by some people. That I think was disturbing. I have no issue with whoever and whichever girl wants to come but those who claim to be the saviours of the society should meat out the same treatment to everyone accused during the movement.”

She went on to add, “You cannot pick and chose that one accused is soaring success on the professional front and I can benefit from it and the other I can throw under the bus. I think that is not a good way to do it. There needs to be a due process, which is yet to come in place. You cannot just say trial by social media because it is a very dangerous phenomenon and can happen to anyone in the course of time.”

Akshay Kumar and others refused to work with Sajid in Housefull 4 until the probe was on and he was still an 'accused'. On this, Farah stated that people should work with everyone until the court has given its verdict.
