Farhan Akhtar Reacts To Reports Of Bodies Found Floating In Rivers; Demands ‘Accountability For These Failures In The System’
The devastating second wave of COVID-19 continues to sweep across the country. While the country is already struggling amid the COVID-19 crisis, reports of dead bodies washing up on the banks of the Ganges surfaced recently. NDTV reported that the dead bodies were spotted in Uttar Pradesh, and while it is unclear how the bodies got there, they are suspected to be those of COVID patients. Farhan Akhtar has now reacted to this, and has demanded accountability for the failures in the system.

Farhan Akhtar took to his Twitter and wrote, “The news of scores of bodies being discovered floating in rivers and washed up on its banks is absolutely heartbreaking. The virus will be defeated someday but there has to be accountability for these failures in the system. Until then, the pandemic chapter is not closed!” Farhan Akhtar has been putting his social media accounts to good use amid the COVID-19 crisis, and has been amplifying SOS calls of patients in need of hospital beds, plasma, medicines, and more.

A few days ago, Farhan shared that he received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccine at a drive-in vaccination facility in Andheri. Soon after, a social media user called him a ‘VIP brat’ and questioned how he was eligible to use the drive-in facility. Farhan Akhtar replied that those above 45 years are eligible for the drive-in vaccination facility.

Farhan Akhtar also denied using his privilege to gain access, and shared a screenshot of his online appointment at the facility, proving that he booked the appointment fair and square.  ALSO READ: Toofaan: Farhan Akhtar Announces His Film’s Release Date Has Been Postponed In Light Of COVID-19 Crisis
