Film Distributor Gets Threats From Shiv Sena For Screening Shah Rukh Khan's Raees

Shah Rukh Khan's Raees is all set to hit theatres on January 25, and it stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.

Trade analyst and film distributor Akshaye Rathi took to Twitter this afternoon to post some pics of threat letters that he had received from Shiv Sena's Chattisgarh wing opposing the release of Raees.

Akshaye says: "Dear @AUThackeray, We have received this threat letter from your Chhattisgarh unit against playing @iamsrk's #Raees. Do you endorse it?"
 

He goes on to speak to all Shah Rukh fans by saying: "Request all @iamsrk fans to help me bring this to the notice of @AUThackeray. I'm sure he will take action against this nuisance. #Raees."

Rathi finally concludes by trying to bring the matter to the notice of the Chattisgarh Chief Minisater. He adds: "Dear @drramansingh ji & @CGAbhishekSingh, Please look into this to let law & order prevail in #Chhattisgarh. #Raees @ChhattisgarhCMO."

For those who’ve come in late, Shah Rukh and Raees producer Ritesh Sidhwani had gone and met MNS Chief Raj Thackeray requesting for the smooth release of Raees a few days ago (BREAKING NEWS: Shah Rukh Khan Meets Raj Thackeray To Talk Raees, Dec 11, 2016).
