Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur To Dedicate Paani To Sushant Singh Rajput; Shades YRF, Says Will Make Movie With Partners That ‘Walk In Humility, Not Arrogance’
Post Sushant Singh Rajput's tragic death, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur have been quite vocal about his film Paani with SSR that was shelved. Paani was to be produced by YRF and helmed by Shekhar Kapur. The film not only shattered Sushant’s dreams but also led to huge fallout between Sushant Singh Rajput and Aditya Chopra. Reason being after 11 months of prepping for the film, it never took off. The Kedarnath actor had earlier spoken about the same revealing that he believed somebody who told him that, ‘that no matter what, the film will be made.’

Now, a while back Shekhar Kapur took to social media to announce that Paani will be made one day and will be dedicated to Sushant. Shekhar Kapur tweeted, “If you want to journey with the Gods, or your creativity, you have to walk each step in devotion. In humility. God willing #Paani will get made one day. If it does, I will dedicate it to Sushant. But it has to be made with partners that walk in humility, not in arrogance.”

Earlier, slamming the industry he had tweeted, “I knew the pain you were going through. I knew the story of the people that let you down so bad that you would weep on my shoulder. I wish Iwas around the last 6 months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours. #SushantSinghRajput”

Earlier, speaking about his fallout with Aditya Chopra and his shelved film Paani, Sushant had told DNA, “It was very unfortunate because I remember saying no to many films I really wanted to do at that point of time, just because I trusted somebody who was telling me, ‘No matter what, the film will be made’. I can also understand that I am a newcomer and a filmmaker is putting in so much money, so he will have doubts, but it doesn’t take away the fact that if you decide not to do that film, you cannot not give me another film just because you know I have said no to so many films. That didn’t happen.” (ALSO READ: Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Aditya Chopra’s Statements Over Sushant’s Casting In Films Contradict Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s- Reports)
