First Look Of Kajol’s Debut Short Film Devi Gives More Power To Women In The Society
Bollywood actress Kajol delivered an impeccable performance onscreen in her latest release Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, where she portrayed a strong character that of Tanaji’s wife Savitribai Malusare. Once again, she has dipped her toes in new waters and she has impressed us with the first look of her short film, titled Devi. This short film has an entire female star cast and by looks of it, we feel they are up for some game-changing phenomenon, leaving us questioning about several things around us in the society.

Kajol speaking about her role in this short film with Mid- Day revealed it being poles apart from her real personality but still shares a lot of similarities, being relevant in today’s time. She said, “I couldn’t have chosen a better subject for my first short film. My character, Jyoti, is vastly different from me, but uncannily, we share a lot of similarities. In today’s times when gender discrimination, abuse and violence is being spoken about vociferously, films like Devi are far more relevant.” ALSO READ: Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior Becomes Tax-Free In UP; Ajay Devgn Wants Yogi Adityanath To Watch The Film

The first look has Kajol sitting in the centre surrounded by her female co-stars. Kajol is seen in cotton saree looking fiercely into the camera, we have Shruti Haasan in all tipsy mode next to her, on the other side ace actress Neena Kulkarni is comfortably sitting with a worrisome expression on her face. Sitting at Kajol’ feet is Yashaswini Dayama with an unhappy face. While these ladies showcase different types of feeling through their expressions we are left awestruck with the casting of the short film.

Neha Dhupia too took to her social media to post the first look and she said, "So stoked to be a part of this power pack ... Here it is!
