Marathi movie Sairat needs little introduction. The film, which featured Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar in lead roles not only propelled the debutants to overnight stardom, but also managed to break several records at the box-office. So much so that reports claimed that it is set to be remade in Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil.

Now, SpotboyE.com has it that Zee Studios (one of the producers) is teaming up with White Hill Production (WHP), a leading production house of Punjab, to remake the super hit film in Punjabi. WHP has produced successful films such as Jatt & Juliet and Carry On Jatta among others.

Says a source, “Director Pankaj Batra, who has helmed Naughty Jatts, Goreyan Nu Dafa Karo and Dildariyan in the past has been brought on board for the project. However, the cast is yet to be finalised. The film will go on floors once everything is in place.”
