Gangubai Kathiawadi has been creating a huge buzz for a long time. As per recent reports, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Hussain Zaidi have been summoned by the Mumbai court. Yes, you read that right! They have been asked to stay present on May 21, 2021. For the uninitiated, it was Gangubai's adopted son Baburao Shah who filed the petition against the makers of the film. He claimed that the film has portrayed his family in a wrong way and it is factually incorrect. The book is based on Hussain's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
The trailer of the film was released on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's birthday a few days ago. Netizens praised Alia Bhatt's incredible performance in the upcoming film. Shahid Kapoor dropped a comment saying, "Gundi to Hamesha se thi ab don ban gai. Loving it."Aditi Rao Hydari, Ayushmann Khurrana, Dia Mirza, Mouni Roy were also impressed by her performance. Sharing the teaser, Alia wrote, "Gangubai Kathiawadi Teaser. Happy Birthday Sir... I can think of no better way to celebrate you and your birthday. Presenting a part of my heart & soul. Meet.. Gangu!"
A month ago, Maharashtra Congress MLA Amin Patel had also raised issue in the state assembly regarding the movie. He said, "It is not the same as it was in the 1950s. Women there are excelling in different professions. The film's title also maligns the name of Kathiawad city. The name of the film should be changed."
Apart from Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia will also be seen in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. The movie also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mouni Roy. She also has SS Rajamouli's RRR. Her first look as Sita was released recently by the makers of the film. Fans are eagerly looking forward to the actress' upcoming releases.
