Geetika Tyagi Expresses Disappointment Over Aamir Khan’s Decision Of Working With #MeToo Accused Subhash Kapoor In Mogul
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, on Monday, had taken the internet by storm after announcing his reversed decision of working with Subhash Kapoor in Mogul. This came months after his decision of stepping out from the project after director Subhash Kapoor was accused of sexual misconduct by actress Geetika Tyagi, in the wake of Me Too Movement. In a recent interview with HT, Aamir Khan opened up on the same stating that one is innocent until proven guilty. “We were very troubled. Laws of natural justice consider a person innocent until he/she is proven guilty. But until such time that the courts reach a conclusion, is it that he/she should not be allowed to work? Is he to just sit at home and not earn?” read an excerpt from the actor’s interview.

Further, the Dangal actor added that he felt guilty because the moment he stepped out of Mogul, the accused Subhash Kapoor wasn’t getting any work. “I couldn’t sleep at night because I used to constantly feel that my actions have inadvertently caused a person, about whose guilt I have absolutely no idea, to lose his right to work and earn a livelihood.”

Now, in an interview with Mid-day, the accuser and actress Geetika Tyagi has come forward shared her two cents on the same. "I had commended Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan [last year] because it gave hope to more women to speak up about their own stories. But I had never asked for it from them. Now that Subhash has been hired back, it's not like someone [from their end] reached out to me. It would have been a fair game had they considered both sides of the story," said Geetika, adding, “This feels strange.”

Further, in another conversation with Huffington Post, Geetika slammed the actor’s statement of Subhash Kapoor not getting any work saying that from the time she filed a complaint, she hasn’t gotten any offers either, except for a web series. “What about that? The opportunities I lost, the trauma I still suffer? Anyway, to each his own. Structures are designed in a way that protect men. Within this structure, I am doing all that I can. And I will continue to do so. Follow the book.”
