Good Evening Mumbai! Vidya Balan’s Seductive Voice Will Keep You Up All Night
I had the privilege of getting an inside look at Sulu’s mesmerising world today evening. A day before the makers drop the much anticipated first look of Tumhari Sulu online, I was invited to see it. I must tell you, it was totally worth it.

Vidya Balan In Tumhari Sulu

Vidya Balan plays a housewife who lands the job of an RJ at a popular radio channel in the movie. While it’s very difficult to point out my favourite parts in this endearing trailer, I feel three scenes deserve a special mention

Scene 1
Part gawky, part confident, a saree-clad Sulochana aka Sulu walks into the radio station and asks Maria, the channel head played by Neha Dhupia for a job. The scene is surreal, you have to see it to believe it.

Scene 2
Sulu and her husband Ashok played by Manav Kaul are seen in an all-too-real nok-jhok sequence. There’s nothing unusual about this fight and that is what makes it so beautiful. It’s slice-of-life, will give you goosebumps.

Scene 3
Vidya Balan is an established and legit RJ now. She’s ruling the air waves. The beauty with which she modulates her voice to make it sound husky and disturbingly seductive makes one instantly hooked.

In ‘Tumhari Sulu’ Vidya and Sulu become one, it’s seamless. The actor slips into the lady-next-door’s shoes so effortlessly and beautifully.

She has done it in the past, in Lage Raho Munna Bhai where she played the role of a radio jockey and in The Dirty Picture where she shed her girl-next-door image.

Coming back to this comedy-drama, it is directed by adman Suresh Triveni and stars Neha Dhupia and Manav Kaul in pivotal roles with Vidya Balan.

It is produced by T-Series and Tanuj Garg & Atul Kasbekar’s Ellipsis Entertainment and they have a lot to cheer about.

The trailer of Tumhari Sulu will be out tomorrow afternoon.
