Govinda And Hollywood Star Matt Damon Have An 'Avatar' Connection We Bet You Didn't Know About
Govinda left everyone shocked when he revealed that he was offered the titular role in Hollywood’s highest grosser film, Avatar. He even revealed that he was the one to suggest the film’s name to director James Cameron. Now, another revelation has hit headlines with regards to Avatar. Hollywood actor Matt Damon has revealed that even he was offered the role but he turned it down because he was working on other projects and had no time for this space sci-fi drama.

In his recent interview, Matt revealed that he was even offered a share in profit once the film releases. In an interview with British GQ, The Martian actor said, “And when he offered it to me, he goes: ‘Now, listen. I don’t need anybody. I don’t need a name for this, a named actor. If you don’t take this, I’m gonna find an unknown actor and give it to him, because the movie doesn’t really need you. But if you take the part, I’ll give you 10% of the film’s profits’.” This deal would have at least made him $250 million, however, since he was working on Jason Bourne movies, he had to reject the offer. Australian actor Sam Worthington then played the lead in Avatar.

Coming back to Govinda, in an interview with India TV, he had said that he pissed off director James Cameron by saying that his film will take years to make. “I told him that I feel it will take seven years for him to complete the film. He got angry. When I said so, he asked, How can you be so sure that I won't be able to make Avatar for seven years?' I told him that what he was imagining was something almost impossible. That he has named his film 'Avatar', but he is showing aliens,” Govinda was quoted saying. He was highly trolled on social media for his revelations.
