Hansal Mehta Comes Out In Support Of Karan Johar; Questions Lack Of Unity In Bollywood And How It Has Rendered Them As 'Cowards'
After big names such as Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and others came under the scanner of the Narcotics Control Bureau, a controversial video from Karan Johar's 2019 party also got discussed on social media. In the video, we could see stars like Deepika, Malaika Arora, Vicky Kaushal, Shahid Kapoor and others. This video had become controversial as quite a few people were of an opinion that the stars consumed drugs at the party. However, yesterday, after a stoic silence on Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, KJo shared a statement denying that no drugs were consumed at his residence during the party.

Now, filmmaker Hansal Mehta has come out in his support and even questioned about the lack of unity in Bollywood. He wrote, "Dear @karanjohar. Thank you for setting the record straight and finally breaking your silence on all the slander and fake news around us. Not many from the industry will share this unfortunately. This lack of unity and fear of persecution has rendered us looking like cowards."

In his another tweet, he wrote, "Unless we put up a united front against this deliberate vilification and speak up I'm afraid this witch hunt will continue. There are many like me who support you. I hope people with greater power than us raise their voices to request an end to this continued abuse and slander."

In his statement, Karan Johar also spoke about his alleged 'aides' that are currently mired in the drugs controversy. "Neither l, nor Dharma Productions can be made responsible for what people do in their personal lives. These allegations do not pertain to Dharma Productions," he wrote.
