Sonu Sood turns a year older today (July 30). He has won millions of hearts by helping many people during the pandemic-induced lockdown, and proved that he has a heart of gold. On the occasion of the actor's birthday, now also referred to as 'messiah', fans are leaving no stone unturned to shower love on the actor. From talking about his amazing performances in films to his philanthropic work, fans are showering birthday wishes and love on the actor from all corners of the world.

Sonu's parts in his earlier films, however, went unnoticed or less noticed until he played messiah in real life. His larger-than-life efforts now outshine what he has done on celluloid. But there are a few films which deserved more appreciation, especially Sood's parts.

Sonu made his acting debut with Shaheed-E-Azam which was directed by Sukumar Nair. He went on to appear in many films. In a career spanning over almost two decades, Sonu has worked in Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films. Over the years, he has been directed by some of the industry's most acclaimed filmmakers. Bhuddah Hoga Tera Baap: Directed by Puri Jagannadh, Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap starred Amitabh Bachchan, Sonal Chauhan, Prakash Raj, Hema Malini, and also Sonu Sood. He essayed the role of ACP Karan malhotra. Sonu played the perfect second foil to Amitabh Bachchan's genius. And if you noticed, he also looked like the megastar!

Jodhaa Akbar: One can never forget Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan's brilliant performances in the movie. But the movie had Sonu Sood too. He played the role of Jodhaa's cousin brother Sujamal, who is pivotal in the progression of the story.

Arundhati: Sonu was seen in a different avatar in this Telugu movie, and he absolutely nailed it and how!

Super: Directed by Puri Jagannath, Telugu blockbuster Super starred Nagarjuna, Anushka Shetty, Ayesha Takia and Sonu Sood.

Chandramukhi: The list will be incomplete without mentioning the Tamil horror-comedy Chandramukhi. Starring Rajinikanth in a lead role, Sonu was also a part of the film.
