There is a buzz doing the rounds in the entertainment industry that Shah Rukh Khan has succumbed to the lure of the OTT and will soon make his foray into the digital platform. The reports say King Khan has agreed to an OTT series with Disney-Hotstar hosting his debut. However, sources in the know are cautious in their enthusiasm about this report. It is reliably learnt Shah Rukh has not said yes to any specific project or platform.

“It is true he has been offered gazillions of digital projects. Every major OTT platform has come forward with a carte blanche: all he has to do is say 'yes', for a staggering price. But he is yet to make up his mind about any particular platform or project,” says the source.

As far as Disney-Hotstar is concerned, Shah Rukh Khan is open to the idea of a collaboration. But no. He hasn’t said 'yes' to the offer. We can only wait and watch how the negotiations develop.

The said speculation surfaced after, in a new advertisement for streaming giant Disney+ Hotstar, Shah Rukh Khan joked about his fear of staying away from OTT platforms, something that his fans and media outlets believed is an indication of his upcoming debut on the platform.

The video began with Shah Rukh Khan waving at his fans from his balcony as he took pride in the fact that no star manages to pull such a huge crowd outside their house. But his manager told him that he is not sure about the superstar’s future because all biggest stars have now joined the OTT bandwagon except him. SRK shared the video on social media and wrote in the caption, “Hmmmm….Picture toh abhi baaki hai….mere doston… #SiwaySRK.”
