Has The Failure Of Ujda Chaman Dampened The Prospects Of Bala? ‘No, It Will Open To 10 Cr,’ Say Experts- EXCLUSIVE
Sunny Singh starrer Ujda Chaman that released last Friday didn’t perform as expected in the first weekend. Clearly, the ship is sinking for the film which is based on the subject of premature balding. The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala which is slated to release on Nov 7 is also based on a similar theme. So, it’s a pertinent question to ask that will Ujda Chaman’s failure make the cash registers of Bala not ring loudly? Here’s what trade analysts and exhibitors have to say.

Amod Mehra is buoyant as he says, “I am certain of Rs 10 Cr on Day 1 for Bala. It’s hot in exhibitor circuit. It may even extend to 12 Cr.”

Exhibitor Akshay Rathi says, “No damp effect. Bala has the potential to garner in the range of 8-9 Cr on first day itself.”

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, “Bala will get anything from 9 Cr plus. Ayushmann has built a strong base. He can carry a film on his shoulders. Plus, you have Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam, both potentially good actresses.”

However, Parag Desai (Gaiety Galaxy) says he would reserve emphatic comments for Saturday. “Ujda Chaman didn’t work. I am a bit ware of Bala.”
