Hema Sardesai Supports #MeToo Accused Anu Malik: ‘Other Music Directors Y’all Worked With Were Gods?’
With many artists such as Sona Mohapatra, Neha Bhasin among others, who have called out Anu Malik and are miffed to have a #MeToo accused reinstated on the judging panel of Indian Idol 11, singer Hema Sardesai has now come out in support of Anu Malik
The news of Anu Malik’s comeback on the judging panel of Indian Idol 11 even after a number of #MeToo allegations leveled against him, did not sit down well with many people. Many people from the fraternity and music industry such as Sona Mohapatra, Neha Bhasin came out and slammed the channel as well as the makers of Indian Idol 11 for bringing back Anu Malik on the judge’s seat despite the allegations. Now, Hemaa Sardesai, known for some of her famously hit songs such as Aawara Bhawren, Chali Chali Phir Hawa Chali and Badal Pe Paon Hai, and has also worked with Anu Malik on many blockbuster hit songs, has come out in support of Anu Malik.
Hema Sardesai took to Instagram and shared a long note supporting Anu Malik and slamming those who have been speaking against him. She captioned the post as, “Pls note this is a selfless post with nothing for me to gain on, accept the satisfaction of standing up for the truth.” Her note begins with praising Anu Malik and how he has given several well-known singers many great songs, one of them being herself. She wrote, “So many years ago when my struggle carried on in the industry I was the ONLY singer who had clearly stated publicly that I have refused to compromise my values for songs. Why were all others quiet then? And why have they been quiet for so many years? By sheer grace despite my strong principles, I was blessed with many blockbuster hit songs including those directed by Anu Malik. She further questioned those singers speaking up against him and wrote, “why were you quiet for so many years? Are you'll trying to say all the other Music directors who you'll worked with were Gods?. like seriously? Also if for publicity sake youll are throwing stones at him, its not acceptable.I ask those known singers who got most of his big songs why are you'll quiet today when you shld be standing by him? I mean it takes two hands to clap rite? When one of the most RAREST DECENT MOST Singer of the industry says something on this.. the people concerned shld sit up and take heed pls..”
Meanwhile, Sona Mohapatra, not only slammed the channel for bringing back Anu Malik, but also recently called out Sachin Tendulkar for praising the singers on Indian Idol 11.
