Hirani, Zoya, Imtiaz form a film club
Here's the latest update from the world of Bollywood. We bet you wouldn't want to miss this. Read on for details... The trio has 5 accomplished filmmakers for company
Mira Nair, Shyam Benegal, Rajkumar Hirani, Zoya Akhtar, Imtiaz Ali, Sriram Raghavan, Homi Adajania and Nagesh Kukunoor have come together to encourage budding directors. Each of these directors will be mentoring a Chief AD of their choice and helping them direct a short film.
The 8 short films will be clubbed into a full-length feature film, which will be produced by HumaraMovies, run by Imtiaz’s wife Preety Ali, Pallavi Rohatgi and Vinay Mishra.
The trio had produced an anthology of films in 2014 where 4 filmmakers were brought on board as mentors.
This time around, it’s bigger and better with the 8 filmmakers at the helm. We hear, Zoya is going out of her way to rope in known faces for the movies. The theme selected for this year is ‘Shor’ – it remains to be seen how the young turks interpret the subject. The anthology will be released in June.
