The Housefull franchise is quite successful in the comedy genre and has managed to tickle the audiences’ funny bones. Now, the team is all pumped up for the fourth part and reportedly it deals with the theme of reincarnation. A Mid-Day report suggests that in the first half of the film, Akshay Kumar will play a 16th century king.
The first half of the movie will offer a fun spin on reincarnation. The source revealed to the tabloid, “The fourth instalment offers a hilarious spin on reincarnation. In the first half that is set in the 16th century, Akshay sports different looks as the king. In fact, the picture of one of his looks, where he is flaunting a bald pate, went viral last year. Bobby, on the other hand, will be seen sporting long hair in this portion. Since Chunky Panday’s character Aakhri Pasta has been established as half-Italian in the previous editions, the makers were struggling to incorporate him in the 16th century.” Reportedly, Chunky will play Vasco Da Gama’s nephew in his past life for the film.
The portions which depict the past life of the characters have been shot in Rajasthan whereas the present day portions have been shot in London.
Sajid Khan who was the director for the earlier three films in the popular franchise, was also helming the fourth part, but was replaced by Farhad-Samji due to sexual assault charges leveled against him last year. In fact, Nana Patekar too was replaced for a similar reason and Rana Daggubati was brought onboard.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has his hands full with movies like Mission Mangal opposite Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu and Tamil actor Nithya Menon, then he has Good News with Kareena Kapoor Khan, a horror comedy and a web series.
