Parul Chauhan Quits Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Producer Rajan Shahi Upset; Actress Says, “Will Make It Up To Him”
Parul Chauhan, who plays Shivangi Joshi aka Naira’s mother-in-law in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has decided to quit the show. Reports are that her decision has left Producer Rajan Shahi disturbed
So, finally Parul Chauhan has decided to quit STAR Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The actress, who was essaying the role of Naira’s (Shivangi Joshi) mother-in-law in the show, was missing in action since January. SpotboyE.com had messaged the actress to know the reason behind her absence, but she never responded for weeks.
And now, Parul has confirmed that she has quit the show. On finally bidding goodbye to the show, Parul told Hindustan Times, “I quit the show because my character, which was of a strong mother, was progressing into a grandmother. I didn’t think I would be able to convincingly play a grandma on screen and therefore, it didn’t make sense to continue. Rajan sir is a father figure to me, so he was the first one I talked to about leaving the show. He was aware of my decision.”
A few reports also claim that show's producer, Rajan Shahi, is highly upset with Parul. He gave the actress her first break in TV industry in his show, Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai in 2007 and always considered Parul as family
Reportedly, right after her marriage in mid-December 2018, Parul gave a notice to the production team saying she wants to quit the show. Apparently, Shahi was unaware of this development and was too shocked to react. The leading daily asked Parul’s stance on it and she replied, "As for our relationship going sour, I have not felt anything of the sort. But, if he is upset or hurt with my decision, then I will surely have a word with him. Ek baap apni beti se bahut dino tak naraz nahin rahe paayenge. He has been there for me every step of the way in my life and I will make it up to him.”
Meanwhile, a visibly upset Shahi reacted to the news saying, "I don’t wish to comment on this please.”
SpotboyE.com sent out a message to Rajan Shahi, who is known to be outspoken, to comment on the development but we didn’t get any reply from the producer’s side. Well, looks like the relationship has really gone sour.
