Actor Hrithik Roshan has been reportedly called by the Crime Intelligence Unit of Mumbai Police's Crime Branch in an investigation of a case that goes back to 2016. The actor had filed a case against Kangana Ranaut in 2016 over alleged exchange of emails. As per the reports, Hrithik Roshan had sent a notice to Kangana Ranaut for referring to him as a 'silly ex'. Then there was a mention of emails exchanged between the two that took place until 2014. Reportedly, Hrithik Rosham claimed that someone impersonating him sent Kangana Ranaut emails through fake ID. Now, the latest update is that the actor has been called in by CIU on February 27 to record his statement.

A tweet made by news agency ANI reads, "Actor Hrithik Roshan has been summoned to appear before Crime Intelligence Unit of Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Feb 27 to record his statement in a case lodged against actress Kangana Ranaut involving exchange of emails between the two: Crime Branch." Earlier, the case was being investigated by the Cell of Mumbai Police. But it got transferred to CIU after Hrithik Roshan's lawyer made the request.

Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut starred in movies like Kites (2010) and Krish 3 (2013) together. Hrithik Roshan categorically denied that he was in a relationship with Kangana Ranaut. It all started when Kangana referred to Hrithik Roshan as a 'silly ex' and in reply Hrithik Roshan tweeted, "There are more chances of me having had an affair with d Pope than any of the (I am sure wonderful) women the media has been naming. Thanks but no thanks."  (Also Read: Kangana Ranaut Shares An Old Clip From Aamir Khan's Satyameva Jayate That She Graced With Deepika Padukone; Says 'Teaching Feminism To Bullywood')
