I Want Shabana & Anupam For Indira Gandhi & Pandit Nehru’s Roles: Karanvir Bohra
The Naagin 2 star’s short film, Ijazat, is the love story of Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi and he is scouting for some powerhouse performers to play Indira Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
Karanvir
Bohra will play Rajiv Gandhi in the upcoming short film Ijazat, which is also
being produced by the TV star.
The film
which revolves around the love story of the political leaders will star Priya
Banerjee (who was last seen in Jazbaa) as Sonia Gandhi.
Not focusing on their political careers, Ijazat
will look simply at their love story, from their days spent as college students
in the United Kingdom to the moment when Sonia Maino became Mrs Gandhi.
Naturally, Indira Gandhi as well as India’s
first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, are crucial characters in
Ijazat.

a wishlist in mind for those roles.
“I want strong actors for the roles as they will
be pivotal to the film. Shabana Azmi will be perfect as Indiraji. Anupam
Kher will be a good fit to play Pandit Nehru,” Karanvir told us.
One of the most crucial scenes in the film is
the moment when Rajiv confesses his love for Sonia to Indira Gandhi and asks
for ijazat to marry her.
And Karan
is likely to approach the veteran actors soon, so that he can wrap up Ijazat in
short time.
In the recently released first look of the film, Karanvir and Priya re-created an old photograph of Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi enjoying
ice-cream
near India Gate.
