Few days go, you and I woke up in the morning to read another marriage in Bollywood having run into rough waters. It was Delhi Belly Imran Khan and his sweetheart Avantika, whom he married in 2011. We were as startled as any other break-up makes you feel and we prayed that the couple will reconcile. 30 days have passed and there has been no patch-up till now. We don't know if either party (Avantika or Imran) has made the effort to keep the (invariable) ego aside and try to start a second innings together.

Now, what made me call Vandana Malik? Let me tell you that. It was the shock I felt when I saw his pictures of having lost so much weight, early morning on social media. Netizens' concern was justified. I don't know why but I associate his weight loss with the turmoil in his married life.
It's so sad the kind of milieu we find ourselves in. The ratio of marriages coming with an expiry date has increased by enormous proportions. Mind you, Avantika and Imran dated each other for 8 years before taking their relationship to the next level. Avantika left 24, Pali Hill, Imran’s residence, a few days ago with Imara. Its' being said that she is now staying with her family. On April 25, she had posted a thought on social media and the end lines of the post read, “life is way too short to leave the key to your happiness in someone else’s pocket.” It was clearly the first indicator that she was unhappy in her marriage.
We still hope, like we did before when the sad news of Avantika-Imran taking a break in their marriage broke out, that they put their differences aside and start afresh. It's not easy but it's not impossible either.
