India is celebrating its 73rd Independence Day today. On this iconic day, Bollywood celebrities and famous personalities have been sharing their wishes on their social media handles to mark the occasion. Right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, all took to social media to extend their wishes this Independence Day. Other Bollywood celebrities such as Anupam Kher, Kajol, Taapsee Pannu, Malaika Arora,  Neeti Mohan and many more expressed their pride in being an Indian. They all wished their fans a Happy Independence Day.

Anupam Kher took to Twitter and shared a video of himself sharing the importance of this iconic day and also wished his fans a happy Independence Day. He wrote, “Happy Independence Day to my fellow Indians all over the world. Ours is one of the greatest nations in the world. Let us stay united and take our country to greater heights. हम सभी को स्वतंत्रता दिवस की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ। भारत माता की जय। वन्दे मातरम्।“ while Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “T 3258 - 15th August our Independence Day .. JAI HIND !! Our pride our honour our celebration .. EVER ..” and shared a picture of himself as he salutes the national flag with the colors of the Indian Flag in the background. Interestingly, today is also an important day for Bollywood as there are two big movies lined up for release namely Mission Mangal and Batla House. Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal traces the space mission of India, whereas Batla House is an intense cop story based on the Operation Batla House. The two films will battle it out at the box office with their release today.
