Is Deepika Padukone Pregnant? Actress Reacts, “It Will Happen When It Has To Happen”
Rumours of Deepika Padukone being pregnant have been there since some time now. The actress addressed these speculations in a recent interview
It was in November last year that one of the most powerful couples of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Italy, after dating for almost six years. Their Sindhi and Konkani style wedding ceremonies were highly talked about, and pictures from the big day, left everyone in awe of the gorgeous couple.
Ever since they got married, Ranveer-Deepika have been providing some serious couple goals, be it with their similar ensembles or the way they look after each other. Now, reports of the actress being pregnant have been cropping up online.
However, that’s far from the truth. In an interview with a news portal, Deepika slammed these speculations by saying, “It will happen when it has to happen. Motherhood trumps being married. That's what I hear from people who have had children.”
The actress adds that it’s wrong to pressurise someone into having a baby. “Of course, it will happen at some point but no, I think it is unfair to put women through that, to put a couple through that. I guess the day we stop asking the questions is when we will bring about change,” says Deepika. The rumours of her pregnancy began when the actress was seen at an event with a slightly bulging belly.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Deepika is currently shooting for Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak that stars Vikrant Massey opposite her. The film tells the story of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal and Deepika’s role is modeled on her. The actress had shared her first look from the film recently, and earned praises for her effort. Several pictures of Deepika shooting in the get-up have also gone viral on the web. Chhapaak is scheduled to release in January 2020.
