In the past few months, Kartik Aaryan’s name has been dragged into the news multiple times but not for positive news. The actor was first in the headlines for being dropped out of Karan Johar’s Dostana 2, a sequel to the 2008 comedy starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan. The film is being helmed by Colin D’Cunha and features Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya Lalwani, and the team is currently in search of Kartik’s replacement.
After that, he was in news for losing out on Shah Rukh Khan’s production Freddy, in which he was reportedly to star opposite Katrina Kaif. According to reports, the separation occurred due to scripting issues between Kartik and the makers. To continue that trend, the rumours then floated that Kartik had lost out on another film with Aanad L Rai and was being replaced by Ayushmann Khurrana, but a spokesperson from Colour Yellow Productions set the record straight saying that they were baseless rumours. “We’ve met Kartik for a different film and we’re still talking. We’ve taken another film altogether to Ayushmann and this is a complete mix-up,” said the statement.
However, it seems like Kartik is not letting any of this news affect him and is taking it all in stride. And now, he seems to be focusing on his other future projects. Last year, it was announced that the 2020 Telugu box-office hit, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, featuring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in the lead was heading for a Hindi remake. Kartik was touted to be selected as the leading actor and to step into Allu Arjun’s shoes.
In March, it was reported that the Luka Chuppi pair of Kartik and Kriti Sanon was set to reunite for the film and the team was looking to start the shoot by June. Now, with the second wave of Covid-19 cases hitting the country badly in April, those plans may have been postponed, but it seems like Kartik is all set to start with the film, and maybe he has given us a glimpse into the prep for it as well.
Today, Kartik shared a video on Instagram dancing on the chartbuster from Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Butta Bomma, with choreographers Piyush Bhagat and Shazia Samji. The song, picturised on Allu Arjun and Pooja, became a rage in the South industry on its release and has crossed over 600 million views on YouTube.
In the video, Kartik seems to be in his element shaking to the chartbuster, and he has already shown the world how cool he would look if the song is also taken in the Hindi remake which is produced by Ekta Kapoor, Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and S Radha Krishna, who produced the Telugu original, and is being directed by Rohit Dhawan. Two days ago, Kartik was snapped at Rohit’s office and it seems like the preparations for the film are in full swing.
Meanwhile, Kartik has his Netflix film Dhamaka with ram Madhvani up for a release and he is yet to complete the shoot of Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kiara Advani and Tabu
