Harshvardhan Kapoor's much hyped Bollywood debut Mirzya failed to set the box office on fire. But his career in B-town seemed to be on the right path as he had reportedly bagged a film opposite Bollywood's reigning actress, Deepika Padukone, even before the release of his first film.
But that may not go to plan. Deepika wants to step away from the project that will be helmed by Badlapur director Sriram Raghavan.
Sources close to the film have told SpotboyE.com that Deepika has already started making excuses.
It was only recently that reports emerged claiming that Deepika had given her nod to Sriram’s next with Harshvardhan as the male lead. But now she has told the makers that her dates diary is too full to make space for the project.

A source told SpotboyE.com, “After Mirzya’s fate at box office became clear, Deepika has been in a dilemma. She has been trying to find a way out of the film. She will cite date clash as the reason for her planned exit."
Deepika indeed has a full diary. She has given a chunk of her dates to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati which is set to go on floors soon. Besides that she also needs to travel to US to promote her Hollywood debut xXx- The Return Of Xander Cage around the same time.

But if the grapevine is to be believed then the reason for Deepika's move is Harshvardhan’s disappointing debut at the box office. Deepika is currently at the top of her game and does not want to take any risks at this stage of her career.
We contacted Deepika but she remained unavailable for comment. When we contacted Sriram Raghavan, he too did not respond to our queries.
Well we just hope that Deepika gives Harshvardhan a chance because the box office is a fickle beast and can turn on anyone.
