Is the National Award Kangana’s vindication over Aanand L. Rai?
Now, it can be told. After all, by winning her third National Award for Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Kangana Ranaut is having the last laugh on the film’s director, Aanand L Rai.

A source told SpotboyE that during the sequel’s shoot, Kangana had heated arguments (call them discussions, if you want) over the way in which some of the scenes were being shot.

Meaning? “You see, Aanandji is a very democratic director,” the source explained. “He gives equal importance to the supporting actors, also. And Kangana would argue that this wasn’t fair since the scene was about her. In most cases, Kangana was actually right since Swara Bhaskar and Deepak Dobriyal were becoming more prominent in the frame than the film’s heroine.”

The source added, “Kangana has a gut feeling about how shots and camera angles are being positioned and who is being favoured with close-ups and punchlines. Whenever she felt she was being sidetracked, she would speak her mind out, loud and clear.

“This wasn’t because Kangana was riding high on the success of Tanu Weds Manu and Queen,” the source continued. “ It was just that she felt that at times, the sequel wasn’t doing her justice. Otherwise, she is a very cooperative actress and follows the director’s instructions to the last word.”
