Photographer Steve McCurry reshared a picture of an Afghan refuge and fans speculate that he is megastar Amitabh Bachchan!
Ace photographer Steve McCurry posted a picture on his Instagram account which made social media go crazy. He reshared a picture of an Afghan refugee living in Pakistan and captioned it, ‘This portrait of Shabuz, an Afghan refugee living in Pakistan, reminds us of the millions of displaced peoples around the world. The unprecedented humanitarian crises across the globe, have resulted in the largest number of refugees in history. A hundred million people have been displaced from their homes. We must all redouble our efforts to support these people, who through no fault of their own, find themselves in vulnerable and precarious situations. #pakistan #stevemccurry.”
This picture has confused the social media users as they believe it is Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan. One of the users commented, ‘Why does he look like Amitabh Bachchan with makeup on’. Another user said, ‘I thought that Amitabh Bachchan’s look for his next movie! ’. The third user mentioned, ‘At first look, I thought it’s Mr Amitabh Bachchan.’. Another user commented, ‘Looks so much like the Indian (Bollywood) superstar Amitabh Bachchan.’
The picture first went viral in 2018 when people thought it was the look of Big B from the film ‘Thugs Of Hindostan.’ The look of the old Afghan refugee has so many similarities that it once again took the internet by storm. The eyes and the beard of the old man looked identical to that of the Don actor. He has done notable work in India and Afghanistan.
For the unversed, Steve McCurry is an American photojournalist and photographer, who have won many awards for his valuable works. In 2018 he won the Golden Doves award for Peace journalistic prize issued by the Italian Research Institute Archivio Disarmo.
