For the past few days, reports about a race between Kriti Sanon and Athiya Shetty have been doing the rounds.
Buzz was, the two leggy lasses are in contention to play Sanjay Dutt's daughter in his comeback film, which is being directed and produced by Siddharth Anand. Now, the latest is that the race is over, though the winner’s name is being withheld.
SpotboyE has it that Athiya, who debuted with Salman Khan's Hero (2015), has pipped the Heropanti (2014) girl to the post.

Sunil Shetty’s daughter, we told you, was a bit worried about the lull in her career after Hero (Athiya seeks Bhansali’s help to salvage her career, May 15). But now that she has landed a role opposite Sanju baba, we are sure she is breathing easy.

Seems, Dutt finalised Athiya, as he has known her since her childhood. The Khalnayak actor has worked with Shetty Sr in a few films and has always treated his co-star’s daughter like his own.

Coming back to Siddharth’s project, the action-packed film will roll in a couple of months.
Dutt, we hear, has action scenes that will remind one of NSG commandos. Athiya is also expected to perform stunts, for which she will undergo training in mixed martial arts.
However, the filmmaker is not ready to confirm it yet. When contacted, he said: “I have never spoken to Athiya.”
