It’s Official, Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi And Ananya Panday To Star In Shakun Batra’s Next
It’s official! Karan Johar took to social media and announced his upcoming film co-starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday. The untitled film, which is helmed by Shakun Batra, will hit the theaters on February 12, 2021
Looks like, the rumours have indeed turn out to be true! Reports of Deepika Padukone sharing the screen space with Siddhant Chaturvedi in dark yet romantic drama has been doing the rounds of the Internet for quite some time. It was reported that the film, which will be helmed by Shakun Batra will be co-produced by the Chhapaak actress. What comes as a surprise is Ananya Panday. A while back, Karan Johar’s Dharma Production took to Instagram and announced their yet-untitled next.
Posting a snapshot of a newspaper, their caption read, “Bringing in different shades of love & life!@deepikapadukone, @siddhantchaturvedi & @ananyapanday all set to star in @shakunbatra's next directorial. Releasing on Valentine’s, 12th February 2021. @karanjohar @apoorva1972 .” Shakun Batra has earlier directed Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012) and Kapoor & Sons (2016).
Talking about the same, Karan told Bombay Times, “Shakun has directed one of the most acclaimed films of Dharma Productions — Kapoor & Sons. With this movie, he also turns producer with us. His upcoming directorial is an intriguing relationship drama, which will release on Valentine’s Day 2021. I am proud and excited about Shakun’s vision as a versatile filmmaker.”
While the director Shakun said, “I have had a wonderful journey with Karan and his production house for almost a decade now, and I can’t wait to get back into the director’s chair for my next. It’s a relationship drama where the characters find themselves stuck in a morally ambiguous zone.”
The film, which will go on floors early next year, will hit the screens on February 12, 2021.
Meanwhile, Siddhant Chaturvedi will also be seen stepping into the shoes of Abhishek Bachchan for the 2nd Instalment of Bunty Aur Babli, with debutant Sharvari. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone is gearing up for the release of Chhapaak.
