The makers of Salman Khan starrer Bharat, kick-started film’s shoot yesterday, as the that was special – it was director Ali Abbas Zafar’s birthday.

Besides the fact that it is a Salman Khan film, another angle which created a huge buzz about the film was its leading lady. But, later it was said that she has backed out of the project because of her Hollywood TV series Quantico. Amidst all of this, Katrina Kaif’s name also popped up.

I’ve learnt a lot from them in our previous collaborations and am excited to see what this one has to offer. I’m also looking forward to working with Alvira and Atul (Agnihotri, Salman’s sister and brother-in-law and film’s producers) and the entire team of Bharat. To all my well-wishers who’ve been so patient and supportive… thank you for your constant support and I’ll see you all at the movies.”
