Soundarya Rajinikanth and her businessman husband Ashwin Ramkumar have officially ended their 7-year marriage. A family court in Chennai finalised the divorce proceedings of the couple yesterday.
According to a Times of India Report, Soundarya and Ashwin were reportedly living separately for seven months and were unable to reconcile, therefore the court granted them divorce.
Soundarya Rajinikanth And Ashwin Ramkumar Were Married In 2010
The couple, who married on September 3, 2010, has a four-year-old boy, and nothing has been revealed about either the custody or visiting rights of the parents on the child.
Soundarya is the younger of Ranjikanth and Latha Rajinikanth's two daughters. Soundarya's sister is Aishwarya, who is married to actor Dhanush. In September 2016, Soundarya announced that she and Ashwin were ending their marriage in a tweet and filed for divorce in December 2016.

It is reported that the separate proceedings were smooth and without much ado.
Last year, a friend close to the couple revealed the reason behind Soundarya and Ashwin parting ways .
"Soundarya and Ashwin were never in love in the first place. They hardly interacted with each other. Their body language towards each other suggested that they were not fond of each other at all. The divorce plan has not come as a surprise," said the source.

When asked how can they not be in love despite dating each other for four years before tying the knot, the source added, “There are many couples who date for long periods, lose interest in each other after few years and yet end up becoming man and wife legally. This was one of those marriages."
Soundarya has directed her father in Kochadaiiyaan. She was also instrumental in introducing him to Pa Ranjith, with whom the superstar went on to make Kabali.
