Jackie Shroff Reveals If He’d Return To The Producer’s Chair For Tiger Shroff and Krishna Shroff-EXCLUSIVE
After having been a part of over 200 films in his four-decade long career, Jackie Shroff is still going strong with utmost enthusiasm. The OG Bhidu still has multiple releases each year and this year he has already been seen in the comedy Hello Charlie and with Salman Khan and Disha Patani in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai.

He also has an interesting and varied upcoming line up as well. He’ll be seen as an antagonist in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi, which features Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead. With theatres opening up slowly, ask Jackie if there has been any intimation on the release date for the film yet, and he answers, “No discussion on it yet.”

However, Jackie has a lot of other interesting projects as well. Ask him about them and he informs, “I am doing Phone Bhoot with Excel. It has Siddhant Chaturvedi, Katrina Kaif and Ishaan Khatter. Then I have Atithi Bhooto Bhava with Pratik Gandhi, followed by OM: The Battle Within with Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjana Sanghi. There are three-four more scripts that I am reading. My aim is to work till I am 90.” Last month, Jackie went to Armenia to shoot for OM, so is his shoot finished for the film or something is left? “It’s just one day of work left.”

In the early 2000s, Jackie and his wife Ayesha Dutt turned producers and made films like Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai, Grahan and Boom. The failure of the latter put the Shroffs under a lot of debt, so much so that they even had to sell their house. Jackie had spoken to SpotboyE.com about that incident that it was the film industry that supported him in that crisis and helped him come out of it.

It has been a while since Jackie and Ayesha have produced a film. Ask the actor that since his son, Tiger Shroff is an actor now and even his daughter, Krishna Shroff has done a music video, whether he would like to return to the producer’s chair for them, and he gives a definite answer. “No. I just want to act and focus on my health. A lot of dedication is needed to be a producer.”

But he is eager to share screen space with his son as an actor. In Baaghi 3, Jackie played the role of the father of Tiger and Riteish Deshmukh’s characters. However, he and Tiger didn’t get to appear on the screen together. Ask Jackie when the audience can expect to see them together on screen and he says, “I also want that to happen. Jaane ke baad bas yaadein reh jati hain, to ye yaadein reh jayein bas.”
