Coming to talk about the National Film Awards, there has been a big controversy around the prestigious award ceremony. Every year, the awards are given away by the President of India, and that's the honour of getting the award. This year, however, only 11 awards were doled out by President Ram Nath Kovind, and the rest were given away by ministers Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Smriti Irani.

Considering this step as an insult to the award winners, many awardees decided to boycott the ceremony altogether. As many as 65 people walked back home without attending the function.

Boney, Janhvi and Khushi were one of the few who received the award from the President's hands.
